Question:-

A rectangular lawn of length 50 m and breadth 35 m is to be surrounded externally by a path which is 2 m wide. Find the cost of levelling the path at the rate of `30 per m². Please help me in this today is exam

solution:-

Let, L be the length of rectangle and B be the breadth rectangle.

By Question:-

We know formula of

=> Area of rectangle = L × B

=> Area of rectangle = 50 × 35

=> Area of rectangle = 1750 m²

=> X = 1750

we know that length and breadth increase by 2 m from their both ends.

so,

=> L = 50 + 2 + 2 = 54 m.

=> B = 35 + 2 + 2 = 39 m.

We know formula of

=> Area of rectangle + path = L × B

=> Area of rectangle + path

= 54 × 39

=> Area of rectangle + path

= 2106 m²

=> Z = 2106

=> Area of path =( Z ) - ( X )

=> Area of path = 2106 - 1750

=> Area of path = 356 m²

Area of path 356 m².

To finding cost of surfing the path

=>Area ×Rs 30 = 360 × 30

= Rs 10680

Hence cost of levelling the path

is Rs 10680

i hope it helps you.
