a rectangular park has a perimeter of 40m if the length is 6 m longer than the width what will be the width and length?

l=6+x
p=40
=>40=2(l+b)
=2(6+x+x)
=12+4x
28=4x
x=7
b=7
l=6+7
=13

Let the breadth be x m
Then length = x + 6 m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2( l + b)
2( x + 6 + x) = 40
2x + 6 = 20
2x = 14
x = 7 m

Hence, the width/breadth = 7 m
Length = 6 + 7 = 13 m
