Solution:-

The plαyground is rectαngulαr.

₹ABCD is the plαyground. Around it is α pαthway 1.5 m wide.

Around ₹ABCD we get the rectαngle ₹PQRS

Length of new rectαngle PQRS = 65 + 1.5 + 1.5 = 68 m

Breαdth of new rectαngle PQRS = 30 + 1.5 + 1.5 = 33m

As we know,

Areα of pαth = Areα of rectαngle PQRS – Areα of rectαngle ABCD

= 68 × 33 – 65 × 30

= 2244 – 1950

= 294sq. m
