Total length of ribbon= 32.7m

Total length of 4 Pieces= 14.2 +2.9+1.08 + 3.9 m

= 21.08m

total length of ribbion- length of the four pieces

= remaining ribbon

= 32.7m-21.08m

= 11.62 m

Remaining length of ribbon= 11.62m

Answer:

The remaining length of ribbon is 10.68 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Total length of ribbon = 32.7 m

           Ribbon cut into pieces = 3.9 m, 14.2 m, 2.9 m, 1.08 m

To find : The length of remaining ribbon.

Solution :

  • It is given that the total length of ribbon = 32.7 m

           Ribbon cut into pieces = 3.9 m, 14.2 m, 2.9 m, 1.08 m

  • We have to find the length of remaining ribbon.
  • To find the length of remaining ribbon, we have to first add the pieces of ribbon that are cut.
  • So,

      Total length of cut pieces = 3.9 m+14.2 m+2.9 m+1.08 m

                                           = 22.08 m

  • Now, subtract the length of cut pieces from the total length of ribbon.

Remaining ribbon = Total length - Length of cut pieces

                                     = 32.7-22.08

                                     = 10.62 m

  • ∴ The remaining length of ribbon is 10.68 m.
