A rich man had five bite of gold chains each with three links.  He went to a goldsmith to have them made into one long chain.  The goldsmith said that the cost of breaking open one link is one rupee an closing it by soldering two rupees.  What is the least amount that man had to spend to make one long chain out of the bits?

1 chain--3 links
5 chain--15 links
Breaking 1 link--Re1
Breaking 15 links--Rs15
Soldering of 1 link--Rs2------(1)
Soldering of 15 link--Rs30---(2)
From (1) & (2)
Amount the man had to pay to the goldsmith=Rs(30+2)=Rs32(ans)
