Solution :

We know , potential energy of an object of mass m at height h is given by :

U=mgh

Here , g=9.8\ m/s^2 .

Putting all value in above equation , we get :

U=500\times 9.8\times 110\ J\\\\U=539000\ J\\\\U=539\ kJ

The potential energy of the train is 539 kJ .
