The full form of  ELISA is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, is a test used to diagnose HIV, which causes AIDS, Lyme disease, rotavirus, syphilis, varicella-zoster virus, which causes chickenpox and shingles like diseases.

This test measures antibodies in your blood. ELISA tests are generally highly sensitive and specific which detect substances that have antigenic properties.
