So. area of the rooms floor = length × breadth
12.5 × 8
100 m ^2
and , area of the carpet = 8 × 8
64 m ^2
so , the area which will not be covered = area of rooms floor - the area of carpet
= 100 - 64
= 36 m^2

Area of the floor = Length×Breadth
= 12.5×8=100 m²
Area of the carpet= (side)²
=8×8=64 m²
Therefore the area of the floor that is not carpeted=Area of the floor-Area of the carpet= 100-64=36 m²
Hope this helps you,...
