A room is 4m long and 3m 25cm wide . How many square metres of carpet is needed to cover floor of the room

DASHISHDas: Length of the room = 4 m
Width of the room is 3 m 50 cm = 3.50 m
To carpet the room, we need to find the area of the floor.
So, Area of the room = length × breadth = 4 × 3.50 = 14 sq. m

Answer:

6.5m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Length = 2m

Width = 3m 25 cm

Since 100 cm = 1 m

So, 1 cm = 0.01 m

So, 25 cm = 0.25 m

Thus the width = 3 m+0.25 m = 3.25 m

Now to find the area of carpet required .We are supposed to find the area of the floor.

Area of floor = Length \times width

                    = 2 \times 3.25

                    = 6.5m^2

Hence 6.5 square meters of carpet is needed to cover floor of the room.
