A liquid can't be held and its particles are more spread out and it doesn't have a definite shape while a solid couldn't be broken , unless force is applied. ... So , that makes rubber a solid. Rubber is also a good insulator , unlike metals , which are excellent conductors. Insulators keep heat from escaping.
