A sells an article to B at a profit of 20%. B sells it to C at a loss of 4%. What does it cost A if C has paid ₹144?

CP of A = a

SP of A = CP of B

a x 120/100 = 1.2a

SP of B = CP of C

ie.

1.2a x 96/100 = 144

115.2a = 14400

a = 125

A paid = Rs.125
