Given:

  • Discount = 10%
  • Gain = 20%
  • C.P.= 450 rupees

To Find:

  • Marked Price = ?

Solution:

Let the Marked Price be 100.

Discount = 10% of MP

 \sf \implies \:  \frac{10}{100}  \times 100 = 10

SP = MP - Discount

 \sf \implies \: 100 - 10 = 90

Gain = 20% of CP

 \sf \implies \:  \frac{20}{100}  \times 450 = 90

SP = CP + Gain

 \sf \implies \: 450 + 90 = 540

If SP is 90,then MP is 100.

When SP is 540,

 \sf \: mp =  \frac{540 \times 100}{90}  = 600

 \sf \therefore \: the \: mp \: of \: an \: article = 600

Hence,MP of an article =600
