The price amount if the prices were not reduced, will be ₹3978.72

Given data :

Reduced percentage of the initial price = 6.5%

The total amount of recieved money = ₹3740

Let,the price amount if the prices were not reduced = ₹ x (assume, x = variable to calculate the initial price before the price reduction)

• Now,we have to calculate the reduced price by subtracting the reduced amount from the initial price.

So, reduced price = {x-(x×6/100)}= (x-3x/50) = ₹ 47x/50

• Now,by comparing the reduced price which is given in the question with the reduced price calculated by us ,we get the following equation:

47x/50=3740

x = 3740×50/47 = 3978.72

The initial price before the price reduction is ₹3978.72 (answer)
