A single pea plant in your kitchen garden produces pods with viable seeds, but the individual papaya plant does not. ... A pea plant is monoeciousand even a single plant produces seeds while papaya is dioecious so anindividual plant does not produce viable seeds

The pea plant has pods for seeds because it is a legume plant but the papaya is not as Divya 23322 said also it is also a reason for this.
