Answer :

➥ The concentration of the solution = 11.11%

Given :

➤ Mass of solute (sugar) = 50 g

➤ Mass of solvent (water) = 400 g

To Find :

➤ Concentration of the solution = ?

Solution :

To find the concentration of the solution, first we need it find the mass of solution, then after we find the concentration of the solution.

As we know that

→ Mass of Solution = Mass of Solute + Mass of Solvent

→ Mass of Solution = 50 + 400

→ Mass of Solution = 450 g

Now, we have mass of solute and mass of solution,

  • Mass of solute = 50 g
  • Mass og solution = 450 g

☃️ So let's find the concentration of the solution by using the formula:

\tt{:\implies  \footnotesize{Concentration = \dfrac{Mass \: of \: solute}{Mass \: of \: solution} \times 100}}

\tt{:\implies Concentration = \dfrac{5 \cancel{0}}{45 \cancel{0}} \times 100}

\tt{:\implies Concentration = \dfrac{ \cancel{ \: 5 \: }}{ \cancel{45}} \times 100}

\tt{:\implies Concentration = \dfrac{1}{9} \times 100}

\tt{:\implies Concentration = \cancel{\dfrac{100}{9}}}

\bf{:\implies \underline{ \:  \:  \underline{ \red{ \:  \:  Concentration = 11.11\%  \:  \: }} \:  \: }}

Hence, the Concentration of the Solution is 11.11%.

Additional Information :

What is Solute ?

➜ The substance which is dissolved in a liquid to make a solution is called Solute.

What is Solvent ?

➜ The liquid in which solute is dissolved is called Solvent.

❍ Solvent particles are greater in amount and are called dispersed medium. The solutions made by dissolving various solute in water are called as Aqueous Solution.

What is Concentration of Solution ?

➜ The relative amount of solute and solvent present in a solution is known a Concentration of Solution.
