A small piece of calcium metal is put into a trough containing water.(a) name the gas formed and how will you test it?(b) what do you observe when drops of red litmus solution is added to turbid solution?(c) what happens if dilute Hcl is added to the turbid solution? Give equation for the reaction.

(a)the gas which will formed is calcium hydroxide,we will test it-(i don't know)...(b)so we observe that

hey mate !!

a) the gas is h2 we can test it by taking a burning candle near the gas than candle burns with a pop sound .. this proves that it is h2

b) the litmus paper remain same as red there is no change in colour ..

c)it will forms the calcium chloride and water
reaction--->, Ca(OH)2 (s) + 2HCl (aq) = CaCl2 (aq)+ 2H2O (l)
