The concentration of the solution is 16.67%.

Given:

A solution containing 50gm of glucose in 250 gm of water.

To Find:

The concentration of the solution.

Solution:

Since glucose mass is smaller than water, it is the solute here and water is the solvent.

Mass of solute= 50gm

Mass of solvent= 250gm

Total mass of solution= mass of solute + mass of solvent

                                   = 50 + 250

                                   = 300gm

We can find the concentration of the solution using the following formula,

Concentration of solution = (Mass of solute x 100) / Mass of solution

                                            = (50 x 100)/ 300

                                            = 16.67%

Hence the concentration of the solution is 16.67%
