"The mass percentage of a component of a solution is given by the following relation;
Mass percentage of the component=(mass of the component in the solution/mass of solution) x 100
Here, mass of the component in the solution= 2g
And, mass of the solution= 2+18= 20 g
According to the formula,
Mass percentage of the component=(mass of the component in the solution/mass of solution) x 100
=(2/2+18)x 100
=(2/20)x100
=10%
