A solution prepared by adding 5g of cane sugar in 20g of water. Calculate the mass per cent of solute.

Solute = 5g
Solvent = 20g
Solution = solute+ solvent
= 5+20
=25
Mass by mass percentage
Concentration = mass of solute/ mass of solution x 100
= 5/25x100
= 20
