A sponge gets compressed when we press it. Will you consider it a solid? Give reason.

as we know sponge is a porus object which have small pores where air is trapped between so while compressing we actually compress its air

yes because sponge has pores for air spaces in it..... therefore it can get easily compressed......but it does not show fluidity..... this is one exclusive feature of solids... hence sponge is a solid
