A square shaped room is 5m high and has the volume of 800m^3 .What is the cost of papering the four walls of that room if the cost of papering per 50m^2 is Rs 4000?

Formulas to know:

=> Volume = Area × Height

=> Area of square =. side²

=> Perimeter = 4× side

=> Area of side faces = Area of 4 walls

= perimeter×height

Given:

• Volume = 800 m³
• cost for papering 50 m² =Rs 4000
• Height = 5 m

Now

• Area = Volume ÷ height

= 800÷ 5 = 160 m²

• Perimeter = 4×side = 4×√Area

= 5√160 = 20√10 metre

• Area of 4 walls = perimeter×height

= 20√10 × 5

= 100√10 =316.22m²

• Cost of papering

= 4000×316.22÷50

= Rs 25298.22 (answer)
