Side of a square = 12

Now, when this square paper is rolled to form a cylinder
Height = 12 cm

Now, let the base radius be r.
So,
Side of a square=circumference of the base of the cylinder
12=2πr
r=12/2π
r=6π

Next, we know that the curved surface area of the cylinder is given by;
CSA=2πrh
CSA=2π(6/π) 12
CSA=144

Therefore, the curved surface area of the cylinder is given by 144 cm^2
