Let the total profit be x.

Profit of a = 3/5 x

Profit of b = x - 3/5x = 2/5 x

The ratio in which this profit is shared is equal to the ratio of their contribution.

Ratio of profit :

a : b = 3/5 x : 2/5 x

a / b = 3/5 × 5/2 = 3 : 2

a's contribution = 270000

b's contribution = 2/3 × 270000 = 180000

Rs 180000

Solution :-

Let the total profit be 1

A's share in total profit = 3/5th part

It means that the remaining share in total profit belongs to B.

B's share in total profit = 1/1 - 3/5

⇒ (5 - 3)/5

= 2/5

So, 2/5th part of the total profit belongs to B.

A : B = 3/5 : 2/5

= 3 : 2

A's contribution in business = Rs. 270000

B's Contribution in business = 2*270000/3

= 540000/3

= 180000

So, B invested Rs. 180000.
