Down the memory lane I thought about how life had passed by in a quick mode.
It felt a little weird how quickly time would pass by, almost as if things went by in a flash. The moments are still so fresh in my mind. I can almost smell the salt water gathering around my feet, sweeping away. I can feel the cold air on my face, blowing away my hair under the starry night. I had always loved the beach. It was one of those places where I went so that I could calm down my mind. I hated when my life became fast and I couldn't feel much apart from the daily ongoing routine. That is why I loved it so much when my friends and I would gather with food around the bonfire we would make and sing songs.
Right now I am looking at the same ground beneath my feet and remembering my friends. I missed them all so much. People tend to forget making time for each other.

Down the Memory lane rode Ms. de Souza. She had her family album wide open on her knees. From the album peeped out dozens of past stories.
The best story was when she was engaged to the young Navy officer-Peter.
Her grandparents were still alive then. They had gifted her their pent house at the sea beach in Goa.
She had soon got married and was blessed with three bony children. Life was full of fun and frolic. Those were the best days of her life.
But tragedy suddenly broke in when her husband lost his life fighting for his country. Ever since she was a single mother toiling from dawn to dusk trying to make both ends meet.
She had no track of the fleeting years. She was fast greying. But her sorrows came to an end when her eldest son became an army officer. He looked exactly like his father and how proud she was of him.
He was returning home today after five years. He was to get engaged to his child hood sweet heart Nancy.
Mrs. de Souza suddenly jammed a speed breaker to her journey down memory lane. She crossed herself and prayed to God not to repeat history. Nancy should enjoy a long happy life.
At the same time she was proud of her late husband and prayed for all those brave warriors who had laid their lives for their Motherland.
