Sulphuric acid will react with calcium hydroxide (lime water) to give calcium sulphate.
Initially slightly white turbidity may be seen but then the turbidity dissolves and calcium sulphate solution is obtained.
Heat is released and temperature of solution rises.Lime water is saturated solution of calcium hydroxide. The reaction of sulphuric acid with lime water is as follows :-
Ca(OH)2+H2SO4 ---->CaSO4 + 2H2O
It is an exothermic reaction as on touching the beaker,we can feel the heat produced by the reaction of dilute sulphuric acid and lime water.
