A student has a wire of resistance
1 ohm. If the length of the wire is 50cm,to what length should it be stretched so that the resistance increases to 4 ohms.

We know that Resistance is directly proportional to the length of the wire. Therefore, the wire of length 50cm with a resistance 1 ohm, should be quadrupled (×4) so that the resistance becomes 4ohm.
