A student repeats the experiment to determine the boiling point of pure water with the same set up by adding some salt to the distilled water. Will the boiling point so determined be same or different from the boiling point of pure water? Give reason.

The boiling point will increase with the addition of the solute in comparison with pure water.
Hence, the boiling point of solution of salt will be more than that of the pure water.
It is due to the addition of solute particle the vapour pressure of the solution will decrease, which will eventually increase the boiling point of the solution.
