A Group II element is used extensively in ‘cement industry’ the element present in bones also and ‘treatment with water’ it forms a solution which turns red litmus blue is calcium.

“CaO (Calcium oxide)” is extensively used in ‘cement industry’, bones also contain calcium. Amount of calcium in the bone determine the strength of the bone calcium and water together forms calcium hydroxide which is alkaline and converts red litmus paper blue.

\mathrm{CaO}+\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O} \Rightarrow \mathrm{Ca}(\mathrm{OH})_{2}
