We know that,
Lateral surface area of cuboid = 2h(l + b)
Area of the four walls of the swimming pool = 2h(l + b)
= {2 × 4 × (20 + 15)} m
= 8 × 35 m
= 280 m

Area of the floor of the swimming pool
= l × b
= 20 × 15 m
= 300 m
⠀⠀
Total area to be covered = Area of the four walls of the swimming pool + Area of the floor of the swimming pool
= 280 + 300
= 580 m

Cost of cementing of 1 square metre = Rs 12 (given)
