Answer:

Considering

distance = x

fare = Rs.y

taxi charges for 1st km=Rs.20

and for several 1km=20+12Rs

then for next 2km=20+12+12Rs

So we can say that for x km,the fare will be 12x+20 Rs

i.e.,12x+20=y

(i)12km

12(x)+20=y

12(12)+20=y

44=y

so for 12km the charges will be 44Rs

(ii)20km

12(20)+20=y

260=y

So, for 20km the charges will be Rs.260
