Given,

Total weight of wheat = 500 kg

Purchasing rate = Rs. 8 per kg

10% profit for one half and 5% loss for another half

To find,

Amount of net profit.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Total purchasing price = 500×8 = Rs. 400

Selling price per kg of first half at 10% profit per kg = 8 + (8×10/100) = Rs. 8.8

Total selling price of first half = (8.8×250) = Rs. 2200

Selling price per kg of second half at 5% loss per kg = 8 - (8 × 5/100) = 8-0.4 = Rs. 7.6

Total selling price of second half = (7.6×250) = Rs. 1900

Total selling price of whole batch = (2200+1900) = Rs. 4100

Profit = 4100-4000 = Rs. 100

Hence, net profit amount is Rs. 100
