the trader deducts sugar by 4%

i.e. 20kg=20000grms x 4/100 = 800 grms

the cost of sugar is 20 per kg which is 20 kg of sugar divided by 400 rs

the trader deducts 800 grams of sugar from 20 kgs so that is 4/5 of a kg

therefore 20x4/5= 16rs

so 16rs of sugar was deducted by the trader

he gave a discount of 20% on rs 400

400 x 20%= 80 rs

but he deducts sugar equivalent to rs 16 thus reducing the discount of the customer so 80-16= 64

hence the customer gets a discount of rs 64
