A train covers a distance of 400 km with the speed of 40 km/hr and the next 600 km with the speed of 30 km/hr. Calculate the average speed of the train.

For first case,time=400/40=10 hr

For second case,time=600/30=20hr

Average speed=Total distance /Total time

Av. speed=(400+600)/(10+20)

=>1000/30=>33.33km/hr.
