A train covers the distance between two station which are 11 km apart in 12 minutes. At what rate per hour is it travelling? Explain step by step with statements

Distance covered by the train= 11km

Time taken to cover the distance= 12 mins

Now, lets convert the time into hours

12 mins= (12/60) hrs

            = 1/5 hours

The rate at which the train is travelling per hour is= distance covered/ time

= 11km/(1/5) hours

= 55km/hr

Hence, the train is travelling at a rate of 55km/hour.
