● A trait may be inherited, but may not be expressed, such traits are called as recessive traits.

● Such type of traits are mostly observed in F1 generation of a a hybrid cross.

● When a tall plant is crossed with dwarf plant the F1 generation plants are tall but contain alleles of both the parents.

● In the above case dwarf traits are recessive traits do they are inherited can't be expressed.

Trait is inherited or not is justified

Explanation:

1. once a tall plant was crossed with a brief plant, the first(F1)generation plants were all tall.

2. However once the F1 generation plants were crossed, the second(F2)generation plants weren't all tall: there have been each tall and short plants.

3. This shows that the F1 plants had heritable their attribute from the short plants however didn't categorical it within the presence of the tallness and had transferred it to the following generation.
