Area of trapezium = 1/2 × sum of || sides×height
34 = 1/2 × ( 6+6) × height
34 = 1/2 × 12 × height
34 = 6 × height
height = 34/6
height = 5.666.....
height = 5.67 cm
34 = 1/2 × ( 6+6) × height
34 = 1/2 × 12 × height
34 = 6 × height
height = 34/6
height = 5.666.....
height = 5.67 cm

✯Question✯
- A trapezium whose parallel sides are 6cm and 11cm has an area of 34cm². Find the altitude of the trapezium?
✬Given✬
- Parallel sides ( P1 ) = 6cm
- Parallel sides ( P2 ) = 11cm
- Area of trapezium = 34cm²
✭To find✭
- Altitude of the trapezium
✮Solution✮
- ½ ( P1 + P2 ) × height = 34
- ½ ( 6 + 11 ) × height= 34
- ½ ( 17 ) × height= 34
- ¹⁷⁄₂ × height = 34
- height = 34 × 2 ÷ 17
- height = ⁶⁸⁄₁₇
- height = 4
✰The altitude of the trapezium is 4cm✰
