10x +y = 8(x+y) +3

this implies 10x+ y = 8x + 8y+3

or 2x = 7y+ 3. (I)

acc. to second statement

10x+y = 14(x-y) -5

this implies 10x+y = 14x-14y-5

or 4x = 15y+5 (2)

subtracting 2×(1) from (2)

we get y-1 = 0

or y=1

put y=1 in any of (1) or (2)

x=5

hence no. = 10x+y = 10(5)+1 =51
