The speed of the Van with 6 people on board will be 97 Km/h.

  • Maximum speed of the Van is 100 km/h when 7 people are on board.
  • When 3 people are on board, the speed of the Van is 88 Km/h.
  • So decrease in people 7-3=4 people
  • And decrease in speed is= 100-88=12 Km/h
  • As the speed of the van decreases in proportion the number of passengers, we can say for every person the speed decrease= 12/4= 3 km/h
  • So the speed of the Van when 6 people are on board will be 100-3=97 km/h
