Given mass:

m=1000 kg

K.E=5000 J

K.E = \frac{1}{2} mv^{2}

1/2*1000*v*v=5000

v=\sqrt{\frac{5000}{500} }

v=\sqrt{10}m/s

The instant velocity is √10 m/s

Explanation:

  • Kinetic energy of any body is possessed due to its motion its expression is given as

                            K.E. = \frac{1}{2} m v^{2}

given mass of the vehicle = 1000 kg

kinetic energy at any instant = 5000 J

By using above equation we get

=> v^{2} = 2 \frac{K.E.}{m}

=> v^{2} = 2 * \frac{5000}{1000}

=> v^{2} = 2 * 5

=> v^{2} = 10

=> v= \sqrt{10} m s⁻¹
