Answer:

(a) heat if solid

freeze if liquid

(c) by increasing surface area

Explanation:

(a)the intermolecular forces change and so state of matter change

(b) can be made faster by increasing surface area as the area influences the reaction .. here the evaporation.

Answer:

The process of changing matter from one state to another is called interconversion of states of matter. The interconversion between different states of matter can be brought about by changing the.conditions of temperature and pressure

(i)By changing temperature: By increasing the temperature solids can be converted to liquids and.liquids into gases. This occurs because on increasing the temperature the kinetic energy of particles :

increases and they can move freely. On decreasing the temperature (or cooling), reverse changes take place

For example, ice changes into liquid water at 0°C and water into steam at 100°C (at I atm.

pressure).

(ii) On increasing the pressure, the particles of matter are brought closer. Thus on increasing pressure,

gases can be liquefied.
