a) placenta : it is an umbilical cord that is developed between the baby and the mother during the gestation period.

functions :

1) it provides oxygen and glucose the growing fetus

2) it is responsible for removal of the waste material of the fetus

b) fertilization takes place when the male gamete fuses with the female gamete in the fallopian tube.

fertilization can take place only once in a month because the eggs or the oocytes are produced only once in a month.

Placenta is a special tissue which is formed in the walls of the uterus during the implantation of zygote. It is a disc shaped tissue which is formed between the zygote and the uterus wall and its function is to provide nutrition to the zygote for its development in to foetus.

It provides nutrition from the Mother's blood to the zygote for example proper amount of oxygen is provided to the zygote and the food nutrition even the waste which is produced by the zygote is transported to the Mother's blood with the help of placenta So Placenta place very important role in providing nutrition to the zygote.

Every month the ovary which is situated in female reproductive system produce one egg .

when this egg fuses with sperm then fertilization takes place and the fertilized egg is implanted on the walls of uterus .

whereas if some time this egg not fuses with the sperm then the uterus lining which prepare itself for implantation of egg is no longer needed so breaks out with the blood ,mucus and flows out through the vagina of female body .

this process is known as menstruational cycle this cycle occurs every month in human female and it is also known as periodical cycle.
