If dismissed, and no location is specified, she will relocate to the Red Rocket truck stop, but will not count towards that settlement's population

Ada and Dogmeat have no follower perks nor affinity so do not belong on this list. Getting your character to max affinity with each companion (except Dogmeat and Automatrons) will unlock a special perk that is a permanent boost to your character.
