Baking soda is mixed with tartaric acid to make baking powder.
Functions:-
Baking powder
1)It is used in fire extinguishers
2)it is used to making washing soda
3)it is used in ENO to remove acidity

Tartaric acid
1)Tartaric acid aids digestion, improving intestinal functions. 

2). It improves glucose tolerance and also improves intestinal absorption. 

3). Only consume in moderation since over consumption can lead to gastric problems
