(a) Carbon has a largest no of compound because :

  1. Tetravalency - Carbon's valency is 4 nd it has smaalest size.
  2. Catenation - The self linking property if an element is known as catenation.

(b) Saturated Hydrocarbons - Those hydrocarbons which have C-C single bond is known as saturated hydrocarbons.

Ex - Methane etc

Unsaturated Hydrocarbons - Those hydrocarbons which have C=C double or C C triple bond are known as unsaturated hydrocarbons.

Ex - Ethene Ethyne etc

(c) Unsaturated hydrocarbons are more reactive when compared to saturated hydrocarbons.
