A wire of length 68 cm is bent in the form of a rectangle such that its length is 6 cm more than its breadth. Find the length and breadth of the rectangle so formed.

Answer:

68=2(l+b)

68=2(x+6+x)

68=4x+12

68-12=4x

56=4x

X=14

Therefore length=20

Breadth=14

hey buddy,

here is your answer..

let the breadth be (x)cm

and length is equal to (x+6)cm

perimeter of rectangle = 68cm

2(l+b) = 68cm

2(x+6+x) = 68cm

2(2x+6) = 68

2x+6 = 34

2x = 34-6

x = 28÷2

x = 14cm

breadth = x = 14cm

length = x+6 = 14+6 = 20cm
