1

x+1 is a factor so (x+1)=0

x=-1

So substituting the value of x u will get the answer

(Note:2x2+kx+3=0)

Hope u understood

5

Answer:

k = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given ( x + 1 ) is a factor of 2x^{2} + kx + 3

Therefore the given polynomial will be zero if we insert x = -1      (∵factor)

( inserting  x = -1 )

  • 2(-1)^{2} + k(-1) + 3 = 0
  • 2 + 3 - k = 0
  • k = 5

Hence k = 5 is the requried answer
