Given :

A wooden block has dimensions 20 x 10 x 5 cm

To Find :

The pressure in all possible positions if force exerted is 30 N

Solution :

It is given that dimensions of wooden block is 20 x 10 x 5 cm

So , the volume of the block , V = 1000 cm³

Area of the block , A₁ = 20 * 10 = 200 m²

Area of the block , A₂ = 10 * 5 = 50 m²

Area of the block , A₃ = 20 * 5 = 100 m²

Force exerted , F = 30 N

We know that ,

\bf Pressure=\dfrac{Force}{Area}\\\\\implies \bf P_1=\dfrac{F}{A_1}\\\\\implies \bf P_1=\dfrac{30}{200}\\\\\implies \bf P_1=0.15\ N/m^2

\bf P_2=\dfrac{30}{50}\\\\\implies \bf P_2=0.6\ N/m^2\\\\\bf P_3=\dfrac{30}{100}\\\\\implies \bf P_3=0.3\ N/m^2
