Answer:

The distance is 5 km.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A worker reaches his factory 3 min. Late if his speed from his house to factory is 5km/hr. If he walks at a speed of 6 km/hr then reaches 7 min.

To find: The distance ?

Solution :

Let x be the distance.

A worker reaches his factory 3 min. Late if his speed from his house to factory is 5km/hr.

If he walks at a speed of 6 km/hr then reaches 7 min.

Distance = speed × time

According to question,

\frac{x}{5}-\frac{3}{60}= \frac{x}{6}+\frac{7}{60}

\frac{x}{5}-\frac{x}{6}= \frac{7}{60}+\frac{3}{60}

\frac{x}{30}= \frac{1}{6}

x= \frac{30}{6}

x=5

Therefore, The distance is 5 km.
