To Find :-

  • The length of AC.

Solution :-

• Length of AB = 10 cm

• Length is of BC = 24 cm

In ΔABC, m∠ABC = 90°

According to the Pythagoras theorem,

AC² = AB² + BC²

[ Put the values ]

↪ AC² = 10² + 24²

↪ AC² = 100 + 576

↪ AC² = 676

↪ AC = ±√676

↪ AC = -26 cm OR AC = 26 cm

[ Note :- Ignoring negative term ]

AC = 26 cm

Therefore,

↪The length of AC is 26 cm.

For information:

  • Statement :- In a right-angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse side is equal to the sum of squares of the other two sides.

  • Formula :- (Hypotenuse)² = (Perpendicular)² + (base)².
