There are two ways of doing this question. :-
ABCD is a rectangle . So, it must be a parallelogram .
As , we know that area of triangle is half the area of parallelogram .
So, ar(ABD)= 8cm²
and ar(ABCD)= 2 ar(ABD)
Therefore, ar (ABCD) = 16cm²
So, ar(BCD) = 8cm² [Diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two triangles of equal areas]
Also , They are on same base BD and b/w same parallels AB and CD .
Hence,Proved
